Katrina Cataldo . Sales Leader . QLD
My Upline helped us both get started and then we continued to learn together and help each other out . Still for me that was it ! One Recruit and I was done ! I thought it was funny when my Senior Executive Sales Leader contacted me about the Leadership Conference to ask if I was going . She believed I would be a Leader by then and encouraged me to go for it ! But at the time I didn ’ t think this would be possible . It wasn ’ t until my first Recruit started recruiting that I realised I would need to promote to Team Coordinator if I wanted to benefit from her and her Recruits ! That month we promoted to Team Coordinator and celebrated together .
Lesson : Showing belief in your Recruits is very empowering . My Upline Leader & Senior Leaders believed in me before I did ! This is something I like to do with my Team now too . I love to encourage them to get started , help them through their doubts and objections . I love encouragement and appreciation so this is something I think is very important . I show this with personalised posts in our Facebook groups , messages , and calls . I praise , celebrate and acknowledge them with my words every step of the way ! I also love giving and receiving mail and gifts , so I am trying something new I learnt from another Leader and I ’ m sending a welcome pack to my newbies . My Recruits also receive something special when they qualify and when they promote . And even a little something at Christmas .
When I started hosting parties and sharing Norwex I was surprised at how many Customers told me they had been to parties before and didn ’ t have contact with their Consultant anymore ! These Customers were now booking parties with me and their previous Consultant had no idea they even wanted to ! Soon I had friends and Customers becoming Hosts , and then some Hosts asking to become a Consultant !
Lesson : The importance of following up with your Customers and looking after them well . They might become your Hosts , and one day become your Recruits ! Establishing relationships early helps .
It took me a while to set up my own Team page as I didn ’ t feel I was a good enough Leader yet ! But with some return encouragement from my Team and my Regional Sales Manager ( RSM ) Carol , I discovered I was already doing a great job and it ’ s ok that we are learning together ! So now I support my growing Team with my own Facebook group so I can schedule information posts to help them , and we can work together to encourage , share and support each other . I love the social dinners before Team meetings that have been on in the past with my Upline Teams and hope my Team will also enjoy this social aspect too . I love connecting and learning with other consultants in my Team and other Teams . It is such a great way to learn and make friends .
Leadership Conference was an amazing event to help me connect with my Team and other Consultants , it gave me the boost I needed , and helped me see the bigger picture . I met heaps of lovely ladies who I ’ ve made friendships with and who have encouraged me since then .
The best decision I made following Conference was actually to have a coaching call with my RSM Carol Finnie . She helped me make steps in the right direction and along with my Team has cheered me all the way to my promotion to Sales Leader . I highly recommend everyone to give their RSM a call . Carol ’ s support has been wonderful . Thank you from the bottom of my heart .
