A year into her Norwex journey, Katrina Cataldo
shares some valuable lessons she has learnt
along the way!
When Carol asked me to write something for the newsletter I commented
that I was not good enough. I had nothing worth sharing. I am still
learning... I realised that this is something I have told myself many times
and I will never have everything perfect. We are always learning new
things and that is ok. So, what I am going to share with you is simply my
journey and my lessons that I have learnt along the way.
I joined Norwex in February 2017 during the last week of the Join For
Free promotion. I knew nothing about Norwex before I attended my
cousin’s party, and when I saw the demonstration I decided I wanted it
all! I was told the best way to do that was to join and shop through my
own account. So I went home and circled everything I wanted from the
catalogue calculating various ways I thought I could get the most value
for my money then joined online, logged in and placed my $250 Subtotal
A Order.
I was pretty excited about the Join For Free opportunity so I shared it with
my sister and her best friend. Problem was, I didn’t even know that they
could join my Team so my sister then contacted her Norwex Consultant
friend to join under her instead.
Lesson : This taught me the importance of encouraging your Recruits
to join with a friend and sharing about the recruiting opportunity early
on even if they only Join For Free.
During my first 90 days I struggled with what I now know as the FUD
FACTOR! My self doubt prevented me from giving it a go. I regretted
missing all the freebies in the FreshSTART Rewards Program and thought
it was now too late to start.
Lesson : This and also many discussions with my newbies has taught me
the importance of on boarding and staying connected with your newbies,
as there are many just like me who just need a bit of encouragement and
support to kick things off.
Fast forward 6 months and I had fallen in love with my products. I was
silently looking in on my Team group and loved seeing the recognition
posts and Customer sales and incentives. I was tempted to order many
times but I didn’t have the money so never did. Then in August an email
caught my attention! FreshSTART ReSTART! As I was reading it my
Upline contacted me again, and I am glad she did. The timing felt right for
me now so I set my launch party date and pushed through the self doubt
to kick things off!

Lesson : This taught me to not give up on anyone, to stay in contact and
support everyone though life’s seasons. I think it’s important to find out
why Recruits join. Never assume someone just wants to Join For Free and
do nothing! Sometimes they simply don’t have the money to engage and
need help. So I stay connected with them and support and encourage
them along the way. Some Recruits don’t engage or re-order because they
don’t have the money (and actually need to earn the money), sometimes
the timing isn’t right, and sometimes people simply change their mind.
At my launch party, my Upline came along to support me and for me this
was exactly what I needed. I did the party presentation myself and had
her there as backup and help. I was so nervous that I began reading word
for word from the party guide! Luckily I was surrounded by the support
of my family and friends who understood I was nervous. My mum then
encouraged me to put the book down and focus on what I know and love.
I did this and things ran a lot smoother.
Lesson :
Believe in yourself, relax, and share your passion in your
own way. People want to know about your story, love of Norwex and
experiences. Encourage your newbies to have a launch party with their
family and friends first. Share that it’s ok to be nervous and their family
and friends will understand this. I still get nervous sometimes!
Prior to my launch party it was never my intention to Recruit anyone. But
when I was sharing about my launch party I discovered that my sister’s best
friend who I had originally shared Norwex with had recently requested a
Norwex party through the website, had hosted one and was going to join
with someone else... Suddenly I felt disappointed that I hadn’t given this
a go sooner and that I’d missed out. I’d known from the day I joined 6
months earlier that she was interested in having a party. I then discovered
that the Consultant she had had a party with was new, did not want to
sign her up and had referred her on to her Upline who hadn’t contacted
her. My sister’s friend decided not to wait anymore and joined with me!
Lucky timing.
Lesson : Always follow up with Recruit leads and referrals. And even
though we were both brand new, that was ok! Recruiting when new is
the best time to do it. We loved learning and sharing ideas together. Now
when I have new Recruits in their first 90 days I always think back to
when that was me and the Consultant who didn’t want to sign anyone
up. I explain the benefits and process of promoting and if they really
don’t want to sign anyone I offer referral gifts to them for anyone they
refer to me and look after the referred person as best I can.
