fine arts areas,” he said. “Our fine arts programs allow
students the ability to express themselves and pursue their
passions. The awards are always a plus, but I think our
fine arts educators are among the most passionate in their
profession, and our students bring an enthusiasm that
helps our programs excel.”

Another notable highlight this school year was the Byron
Nelson cheerleading team taking part in the Macy’s
Thanksgiving Day Parade, following the Eaton Sapphires
drill team taking part in the Rose Parade last school year.
Byron Nelson’s cheerleading squad also had another
notable accomplishment, earning the top dance score in
their classification of the UIL State Spirit Championships.
Eaton’s cheerleading squad won third overall in its
classification of the competition.
Fine arts will continue to grow next year, thanks to the
opening of Curtis Elementary School and Adams Middle
School. Both schools began hiring their staffs recently,
and they are in the process of updating their websites with
information about their programs.
