ShyAnn Hooper was a
16-year-old sophomore at
Northwest High School when
her life tragically ended on
Feb. 10, 2014. ShyAnn and
Brianna Christensen, who
both played on the Lady
Texans basketball team, were
on their way home from track tryouts when they were involved
in a car accident.
Friends and family describe ShyAnn as passionate, full of love
for others, and a respected leader in school, church and social
life.
On Dec. 9, 2014, ShyAnn’s
varsity basketball number,
24, was retired. Her family
hopes to further honor
her memory through the
ShyAnn Hooper Memorial
Scholarship. The scholarship
is awarded annually to
an outstanding senior at
Northwest High School
who participates in a varsity
sport and is a member of the
National Honor Society.
