For a high school student, knowing where to apply for
scholarships can prove challenge. Thanks to the Northwest ISD
Education Foundation – known as NEF – a simple application
during a student’s senior year can make the process much
easier.
NEF’s mission is to provide financial support to empower
Northwest ISD educators, engage the community and
encourage future-ready students. Funds raised benefit teachers
and students through innovative teaching grants and student

scholarships.
“Northwest ISD believes kids come first, and that remains
a focus even after students graduate,” said Emily Conklin,
executive director of communications. “The foundation awards
the NEF Encouraging Excellence Scholarship annually to help
ensure graduating seniors continue their path to success.”
