November 2018 JUSTIN Vol 1 Issue 1 Sarah Jones, LMS Inside the Issue BOOK DISPLAYS The library has under gone a face lift. The bookcases have been rearranged and books have found new homes across the library. Several different book displays have been features - GRIT/Western, School, Hispanic Heritage, new books, Texas 2X2 Books, UBC Books, Bluebonnet Books PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST LIBRARY CLASSES We had 97 pumpkins submitted to the contest. 450+ students and staff voted on their favorite through google forms. Charlotte's Web was the top picked pumpkin. All grade levels have visited the library for orientation and library skills. The library clubs that have meet so far this year are Building Club K-1, UBC 3-5, Book Trailers Club 5th Grade. Book Tasting at the JES Cafe Fourth grade has been visiting the library this fall to learn more about a few genes they have studied in reading and writing. We have had three different book talks over Realistic Fiction, Fantasy and Biographies. The genre study colminated with our first JES Cafe book tasting. Students were able to sample different books the library has to offer in the three different genres. Each student left with at least 6 different books they might like to read in the future.
