U pon approach, there is a foreboding quality to the facility. Vast in size, with an appearance of a WWII munitions factory, the leased property of Highwood Global, LP seems to have seen it all. Out front, dry grasses and landscaping, long left for dead, tell one story, but then there is a shiny new sign with directions to portables and a soon-to-be-paved parking lot. In the background, multiple warehouses stand at what used to be R.A. Hanson Co. Industrial. A new life is being breathed into this active manufacturing plant outside of Hillyard by Highwood Global, which set down roots in Spokane in 2015. Building 1 is so large that a ship could be built in it. Building 2 holds a variety of manufacturing op- erations including machining, welding, metal prep, control panels, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical assemblies, and more. 10 NORTHWEST AEROSPACE NEWS
