GORGE TECHNOLOGY ALLIANCE SPOTLIGHT Overwatch Imaging is working at the convergence of aero- space, computer vision, auton- omy and artificial intelligence. Based in Hood River, Oregon, Overwatch Imaging designs and manufactures airborne imaging systems with custom onboard artificial intelligence software for both piloted and unmanned aircraft. The company’s imag- ing systems focus on finding small objects of interest in large search areas. “By helping organizations move to autono- mous aerial detection, we help them improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance safety,” said founder and CEO Greg Davis. PT-8 Oceanwatch on the nose of a Schiebel S-100 Camcopter UAV in Croatia Davis and co-founder Nick Anderson have worked together in the Columbia River Gorge for a decade, spending time with Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary that makes unmanned surveillance aircraft, and with Cloud Cap Technology, a United Technologies subsidiary that makes stabilized airborne video cameras.
