“This is what we do at the WATR Center,” said Executive Director Larry Cluphf. “We teach the skills that are in demand and industry driven with the outcome of employment in the aerospace manufacturing industry –– in just 12 weeks.” The WATR Center is managed by Edmonds Community College through an agreement with the Aerospace Futures Alliance. It has provided high-quality, industry-recognized training since 2010 and will host a public celebration of its 10-year anniversary on June 3. For Ha and many others, a certificate from the WATR Center pays off. Starting salaries for an electrical assembler installer at Boeing is approximately 20 dollars per hour, with a one dollar per hour annual raise. If Ha stays in the same position for six years, she’ll reach a maximum pay of 38 dollars per hour. Finding employment in in-demand, highwage positions is not uncommon for graduates of the WATR Center. More than 2,000 graduates have gained employment with over 120 aerospace manufacturers and suppliers. “The WATR Center offers an incredible opportunity for launching a career in aerospace manufacturing,” said Edmonds Community College President Dr. Amit B. Singh. “It’s such a high rate of return for those seeking an entry-level job in aerospace. From there, the college provides pathways for those who want to further their education and career opportunities.” CONNECT BETTER WITH WAVE BUSINESS Wave Makes Business Productivity Soar Companies that need fast, reliable internet and scalable voice solutions trust Wave Business.
