The Workforce Summit is the result of a new partnership between AWBI and AFA to see the manufacturing sector continue to thrive in Washington . Together , AWBI and AFA have committed to helping Washington achieve the goal set by the Legislature in 2020 to double the number of manufacturing employment bases in the state , with an explicit focus on equity .
As the CCW Sector Intermediaries for Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing , AWBI and AFA are working to :
• Increase the number of young people exposed to and interested in pursuing careers in advanced manufacturing and aerospace , especially women and BIPOC populations
• Connect business with CCW programs to increase the number of Career Launch experiences within the industry
• Ensure a closer linkage between educational systems and employers to better address current and future workforce gaps
