Creating a culture of openness and collaboration can also help employees feel comfortable with digital transformation . Encouraging employees to ask questions and offer feedback can help them to feel more engaged and empowered to take ownership of the process . It ' s also important to create an environment where employees feel comfortable discussing ideas and offering suggestions for improvement . And by all means , make sure they feel safe expressing their concerns as well . When they do , it ’ s essential to validate those feelings , but offer reassurance that the path has been well thought out and why your chances of success are high . It ’ s important to not let concerns turn into culture of negativity and lack of belief in success .
3 : MAKE IT FUN
It ' s totally possible to make digital transformation fun . Incorporating elements of learning and playful engagement can help to make the process more enjoyable and can help to reduce the fear associated with the change . This could include things like gamification or team-building activities . We ’ ve had customers of ours giving prizes and bonus cash to team members who hit certain targets for engaging with the system and filling out things that matter to help with adoption . It ’ s amazing how fast people want to engage when there is a healthy spirit of competition .
4 : CHOOSE THE RIGHT PARTNER
The shockingly bad success rate for technology adoption is most often because of the way the company does or doesn ’ t adapt to the technology . But certainly some of the responsibility lies with the vendor selling the technology . If the tech wasn ’ t the right fit or choice , the vendor really shouldn ' t have sold it to the customer in the first place . And then there are also very poor implementation plans put forth by vendors implemented by their inexperienced team members who may have little experience in your industry . So it ’ s important to ensure that the plan proposed to you will be one that works for your company . And lastly , go off the beaten track to find reviews and talk with real customers who may not be the most happy ones offered up by the vendor as a reference .
Digital transformation can be a scary prospect for many individuals and the company as a whole , but it doesn ' t have to be . With the right tools , strategies , vendor and support , employees can be empowered to embrace technology and feel comfortable in the process . Educating employees on the potential benefits , providing training and support , embracing a culture of openness , listening to feedback , and making it fun are all important steps in helping employees feel comfortable with digital transformation . And ensuring those practices are followed will go a long way in helping ensure your company has a successful outcome .
