B
ut the Everett interiors plant is the largest of the presumably-soon-to-
be-former Rockwell Collins plants.
Rockwell Collins acquired the plant in 2017 when it bought up B/E
Aerospace, which at the time was the world’s leading supplier of interior
systems.
The plant became Rockwell Collins’ largest facility, with roughly a quar-
ter-million square feet of space and more than 600 employees.
As its ownership changed, the plant has grown steadily. A dozen years
ago, B/E was in a small facility in Marysville, Washington with some 250
employees.
“We were sort of an engineering services and modification upgrade cen-
ter,” General Manager Trevor Skelly said.
But since Skelly joined the company in 2007, he has overseen a signifi-
cant expansion as first B/E, then Rockwell Collins, built the new facility
and added new tooling. The building houses operations that used to be
scattered across three of B/E’s Puget Sound sites, including Marysville,
and it absorbed the operations of a former B/E facility in Illinois after the
merger with Rockwell last year.
