E dmonds Community College offers an associate degree in Robotics and Electronics, which they say offers starting salaries ranging from $33,000 to $42,000 for a Technician I. They note that their “Graduates work in information technology, aerospace, electronics manufacturing, green ener- gy, biomedical, robotics, and telecom- munications.” Clover Park Technical College, which is located near Tool Gauge, also offers Mechatronics and lists a career op- portunity with this training as “Elec- tro-Mechanical Technician, median annual pay in Washington: $55,610 per year.” Danny Copeland, project manager for the college’s Mechatronics program, expressed that these skills are in high demand and that their programs are growing because of the types of equip- ment used in the factory. 14 NORTHWEST AEROSPACE NEWS
