The magni500 is described as , “ Producing 751 HP , the magni500 is the ideal propulsion system for existing “ middle mile ” aircraft such as the Cessna Caravan , King Air , Otter or De Havilland Beaver seaplane . It is also optimal for use in clean-sheet electric aircraft design .” It has a maximum speed of 2600 RPMs and weighs 293 pounds .

The magniDrive is , “ a multi-application , aerospace inverter solution . It is bi-directional , capable of both DC / AC operation for propulsion and AC / DC operation for generation . It is suitable for HVDC networks of up to 800 VDC . Designed for unpressurized operation , the magniDrive combines high thermal performance , EMI immunity and lightning protection for metallic and composite structures .”
Newell Corporation is a supplier to both magniX and Eviation . Their affiliation started in 2018 when Ganzarski was appearing on a panel for next generation technology ( NExT ) through PNAA and met Sales and Marketing Executive for Newell , Chris Nussbaum . Other panelists included Erik Lindbergh of Verde- Go Aero and Tethers Unlimited , among others , said Nussbaum . They started working together in 2020 via magniX on test stands for internal testing of motors . Five months later , they began work with Eviation .
Eric VanWerven , president of Newell Corporation explained that on the Alice commuter aircraft , Newell Corporation is producing enclosures and mechanical pieces for the engines and housing . For magniX they are producing tooling such as test stands for internal testing of motors .
VanWerven said that the work that magniX and Eviation are doing is important because the technology is emerging and , “ it ’ s exciting because they want to build this stuff in magniX while building a significant number of aircraft .”
Nussbaum echoed his comments by saying , “ Cutting edge technology is not only important to aerospace in the region , but also for a company like Newell Corporation . It is nice for us to get into emerging , new technology and broaden our knowledge .”
