Bill McSherry Watch U.S. Fly www.watchusfly.com Vice President, Government Operations Boeing Commercial Airplanes 18 Today, a 737 takes off or lands every 1.6 seconds. On average, more than 2,440 Boeing 737 airplanes are in the air at any given time, serving a range of different markets. Given the different sizes and variants of the Boeing 737, the line gives carriers a number of options - from smaller regional jets to larger mid-to-long-range aircraft.
