About Keith Warner
During his lifetime, White Bear Lake resident Keith Warner won numerous awards for his outstanding commitment to community service. The Mayor of White Bear Lake declared Nov. 25, 2013, as“ Keith Warner Day,” just two weeks before he died of brain cancer at the age of 78.
After retiring from the banking and milling industries, Warner served as the VHEDC’ s executive director from 2008 to 2013. He is credited with transforming VHEDC’ s organizational focus from“ Open for Business” to“ Taking Care of Business.”
“ Keith was a master organizer and brought people together, dialing down objectives and transforming people’ s ideas to get things done. He was a bulldog— persistent until you said yes— and then he handpicked people to make it happen,” said former Vadnais Heights City Administrator Gerry Urban.
Before he got sick, Keith Warner and his wife, Patty, co-founded the Relay for Life event in White Bear Lake in remembrance of their daughter, Lori, who they lost to colon cancer. The Relay for Life has raised almost $ 7 million to date.
Patty Jean Warner passed away in early 2024.
