Vadnais Heights Area Community Foundation
The VHEDC is also thankful for the support of the Vadnais Heights Area Community Foundation( VHACF), a broad based foundation for the community that since its founding in 1979 has been supporting a number of nonprofits in the community, including the VHEDC.
“ Our priorities are education, arts and culture and health and human services. The biggest thing we do on an annual basis is provide grants to local nonprofits that are doing work that supports people in the community,” said Kevin Kelly, VHACF’ s Vice Chair.
Among the nonprofits that received a portion of the $ 14,000 in grants awarded in 2024: White Bear Center for the Arts, Newtrax, Solid Ground, Northeast Youth & Family Services( NYFS) and Merrick, Inc. The VHACF also has a special fund available for teachers that strengthens instruction by investing in the educators’ selfdetermined professional growth and development in order to support student success, enrich their own practice, and strengthen their schools and communities. Past recipients have used the funds to travel overseas, then came back and shared their experiences with students.
In addition, VHACF awards scholarships every year to high school seniors in the White Bear Lake Area Schools, Mounds View Public Schools and at the Academy for Sciences & Agriculture( AFSA), a charter high school in Vadnais Heights.
The majority of the organization’ s funding comes from donations. If you would like to make a contribution, please donate online at VHACF. org / giving vhedc. com 13
