our company’s relationship with the
City of Vadnais Heights,” said Haupt,
who has worked for Short Elliott
Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) since 2007.
SEH is a Vadnais Heights based
consulting firm that connects
government, commercial and industrial
clients to solutions they need to
succeed in the world today. Haupt is
a licensed Civil Engineer and currently
serves as the company’s Client Service
Manager & Project Manager for the City
of Vadnais Heights and other municipal
clients throughout the metro area.
SEH is very involved in serving the
community through volunteering,
participating and donating. Company-
wide in the past six years, SEH has
donated more than $175,000 to local
food shelves in the communities that
SEH serves. SEH also participates in
a company-wide fight against cancer.
Collectively, SEH and its employees
have raised or donated more than
$125,000 to the American Cancer
Society for cancer research over the
past six years.
During his time with VHEDC, Haupt has
served on the golf committee, and his
company has a representative on the
currently active Garceau Task Force.
“After the 2013 event, former VHEDC
Executive Director Keith Warner
approached me to join the board.
It was an easy decision as I grew
up in Vadnais Heights and I felt this
was a great way to give back to my
community with the skills I have,” said
Deuel.
Brian Deuel works at Olsen Thielen,
a CPA firm founded in 1921. The
company has offices in Eden Prairie
and Roseville, where Deuel works.
Olsen Thielen offers a wide range of
services, including audits, reviews,
personal and corporate tax returns,
ERISA audits, and cybersecurity
services.
Deuel has been involved in sports
all his life. He played college golf at
Augsburg University in Minneapolis,
so it’s only natural that he is very
involved in the organization’s annual
golf tournament. “We (Olsen Thielen)
have been a sponsor of the annual
golf tournament and I have played in
it as well,” said Deuel, who also does
volunteer work for Feed My Starving
Children, and runs a soap drive
collecting soap and shampoo to give
to local shelters.
Vander Heiden got involved in VHEDC
after attending a Workforce Committee
meeting shortly after she started
working for her former company,
Schwing America, Inc., in 2015. “I
enjoyed the people I met and the topic
of closing the skills gap to fill open
positions was of interest to me as it is
becoming increasingly difficult to fill
open skilled trades positions in this
tight labor market,” she said.
Among the VHEDC activities she is
proud to have been involved in, the
Workforce Advisory Committee and
the HR Connections group. She was
also part of the team that created
the Gen Z Connections partnership
program with the White Bear Lake Area
Schools.
Vander Heiden is also involved with
school and church activities with her
kids, and she has participated in the
Manitou Days Parade in Downtown
White Bear Lake two years in a row.
