resolve along with you to solve the slump month. If your sched- ule shows that you are always light in treatment in September, then rally your team to fill the schedule. When their efforts pay off, make sure you reward them for their diligent work. Let your team weigh in on creative solutions to the slump. Can social media curb the decline? Could a patient appreciation event boost production? Should the practice have specials in the slump month to increase the numbers? The solutions are end- less and should be specific to your practice, patients, and trends. So, get creative! Slow months and slump periods often loom like a dark cloud. Most practice owners and teams treat them like a storm that cannot be thwarted. However, we have seen many practices take control, wage war on the slump, and come out victorious. It takes knowledge, preparation, and an unwillingness to accept the slump. September is just around the corner – it’s time to get to work! In an effort to remove herself from the abrasive consult- ant persona, Bethany spent time receiving Masters degrees in Adult Education and in Health Communication, which enables her to present information in a way that dentists and team members understand and appreciate. Her unique approach customizes her sugges- tions and training to fit the personality and goals of the practice. Rather than approaching each practice with the same “Fix-It Guide,” she evaluates the practice, talks with team members, and listens to the dentist before making any suggestions. Bethany has a legacy of dental professionals in her family, and she has had the privilege of helping her father to build, manage, and maintain a successful family practice. With the heart to serve dentists, she has made a difference in practices all over the DFW Metroplex. For more information, visit | NORTH TEXAS DENTISTRY 13
