orphans, widows, children and elderly with severe and life-
threatening infections.
“My love for the country of Ethiopia originally began because
of my adopted children. However, my family quickly realized
the lasting impact we could have on the people of Ethiopia and
knew we had to put an organization in place to make this
change,” Alexander said.
Alexander’s mission is not only to give the people of Ethiopia
dental access, but also to provide them with love and faith. This
is accomplished using a “buddy system.” Non-dental volunteers
break down the language barrier by holding hands and comfort-
ing the patients since many have never seen a dentist before.
“This organization began as just a group of friends coming
together to love people as Jesus loved people. I think that is
what makes EthiopiaSmile so unique. We are not only providing
dental services but giving Ethiopians someone to lean on,”
Alexander said.
In addition to EthiopiaSmile, Alexander is actively involved in
making Arlington a better place. His involvement in the Arling-
ton community includes the Alliance for Children, Gospel City
Church, YoungLife Arlington, Pantego Christian Academy, Mis-
sion Arlington and the Humble Smile Foundation. He is pas-
sionate about serving the homeless, the underserved and being
an advocate for children in need.
