Special thank you here to the Electric City Archery Club www.electriccityarchers.com for letting us use their targets! On the first target, I realized how my first competition was going to go. Once the first person was ready to shoot people started to say things like “watch your bubble,” and “he’s not that far, give him a little more.” Then when you finally stop trying to listen to them and settle in to your shot and proceed to shoot, it didn’t matter where you hit the target at, it was always followed by, “That would be an awesome kill shot in real life” or “Why did you shoot him so far back?” I realized then that I am really going to like this sport. In the last four years, part of the shoot is a little game to see how many times you can get someone to let down on the same target from laughing too much. I will say that the people that I seem to shoot with are not the best at helping you shoot, but I do believe that it has helped me be able to control my ability to tune every thing else out and keep my focus on the target. With this I do have to thank everyone who has helped me train myself to do these thing; without them, I wouldn’t have had the success that I have had in the last two years. 11
