Distinctively Better® means
just that—there is a noticeable
difference in the way Monrovia
plants thrive. Part of this success
comes from a naturally occurring
fungus present in the soil and
the roots of Monrovia plants—
mycorrhizae. Monrovia’s special
blend of the hair-like, beneficial
fungus is inoculated directly into
the plants at the nursery, and is
extremely symbiotic within the
natural environment, working
to trap and retain a higher
percentage of nutrients from
the soil—the result is completely
apparent.
Monrovia has always been about
quality, and each of its four
nurseries have what are called
“plant standards”—a plant has
to pass the “high bar” for quality
before it’s allowed to make its way
to our customers.
Besides these exceedingly high,
“plant standards,” the company’s
New Plant Program works globally
with plant explorers, breeders
and hybridizers to bring new and
resilient varieties of plant materials
more disease resistant, hardier
and more floriferous—this, in turn,
will insure your garden performs
at its highest potential.
The buying team at N40 works in
close collaboration with Monrovia
experts out of Oregon to insure all
plants we buy are perfectly suited
and top-performers in our local
gardens. The best soil mixtures
and the best plant standards
all equate to a very high rate of
success for all Monrovia plants.
