PONDERAY SHOP REPORT
Fly fishing 101 up and running!
CALVIN FULLER
Fishing around Sandpoint has been outstanding
these last few weeks. We saw record numbers of
salmon flies on the Coeur d’Alene River this year
and the green drakes are now coming off. Fish are
larger this year than previous years. We had some
stellar spring/early summer fishing on Lake Pend
Oreille this year. Several large rainbows have been
caught, and the black ant hatch was epic this year.
The Thompson River fished very well this spring
and with the good snow pack, we expect it to last
late into the summer.
We would also like to say farewell to Dustin Bise.
Dustin has chosen a new adventure in his life and
will be missed around the shop by our customers
and staff. If you run into to him anywhere on the
river, chances are the fishing is going to be good.
Here at the Sandpoint Fly Shop, we have been
holding fly fishing 101 classes every Saturday at
9:30 am allowing guests to come try rods and learn
new techniques. This class caters to all levels of
fly fishers and we plan on holding them
throughout the summer and returning to our fly
tying classes this fall.
FLY FISHING 101:

Come in now through August 21st to test
