R
aised in North Central Washington,
Luke’s first real career as a professional
cowboy took him all over the United
States riding Saddle Bronc horses. From
an early age his childhood influences
gave him a passion for all things western
including fly fishing. After years of the
cowboy lifestyle and marriage to his wife
Haley and the birth of their first son,
they decided to return to the Okanogan
where his family could share the joys of
the Northwest (namely fly fishing). Now
his wife and sons Ethan and Monte spend
their vacations chasing all the various
salmonids from the Greenback west slope
cutthroat of the high Cascades to their
cousins in the Puget Sound, and Luke’s
favorite, the Steelhead of the high desert
rivers. But heck, they’ll fish anything to put
a bend in a rod.
Welcome to the
Omak Crew!
Luke brings with him a wealth of knowledge
when it comes to fly fishing, whether it’s in
the form of single hand or his favorite, the
spey rod. Besides casting a mean rod he is
quite the master at a fly vice and creates
some of the best bugs around.
We are very lucky to have Luke on board
with us here the North 40 flyshop in Omak.
His passions include: anything he can do
on horseback, finding more excuses to
fish a spey rod, and Nebraska Football:
“GO BIG RED.”
