Steak + Ale Pie
1 tbs butter
3 red onions 2 tsp rosemary
2 tsp bay leaves 1 tsp oregano
2 tsp thyme 3 large carrots 2 sticks celery
350 ml ale 1 kg beef 750 ml beef stock 1 large egg 300g flour 100g butter 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp salt
Preheat the oven 200 C. Mix flour, salt and butter to create pastry dough. Toss the beef with flour, salt and pepper in a pan. Next, place the beef in a baking dish and add brown ale. Mix garlic, onions, carrots and celery into the pan. Stir in the egg and herbs. Bake the pie dough and meat mixture for 20 minutes. Then cover with additional pie doughand bake 20 more minutes until golden brown.
