” Geistlich Bio-Oss bone replacement material is not only well-established but also grounded in solid scientific research , making it a trusted choice in dental treatments .”
” Implant treatments have revolutionized dental care , significantly improving oral function and overall quality of life . However , one of the obstacles in this process can be the inadequate bone volume needed for the implants . In these cases , with limited bone volume , bone substitutes such as Bio-Oss have become a reliable option in dental health . These materials are not just alternatives but are important in the successful application of dental implants .
This is exemplified in our study titled ” The long‐term impact of alveolar ridge preservation with xenograft bone mineral on periimplant health after 5 years in function .”( 1 ) Conducted at the periodontics department in Jönköping , the study involved patients treated between January 2014 and February 2015 . It included 108 patients over a five-year period , focusing on the use of Bio-Oss , a deproteinized bovine bone mineral , for alveolar ridge preservation ( ARP ).

The study reveals a high implant survival rate of 93.7 % over five years . This highlights the ability of Bio-Oss to maintain the necessary alveolar bone volume and structure for implant placement . Furthermore , peri-implant health in patients with or without ARP was comparable , indicating the method ’ s effectiveness for longterm dental implant success .
In conclusion , the study conducted with our patients at the periodontics department in Jönköping demonstrates that dental implants can be effectively and safely placed using Bio-Oss , even in scenarios where initial bone volume is lacking . This method offers a reliable and secure solution , not only enhancing dental functionality but also improving aesthetic outcomes , thereby contributing significantly to the advancement of dental health practices .”
