Jersey City Park & Shore Bates Street Redevelopment Manhattan Building Company has proposed constructing more than 2,300 apartments on a nine-acre redevelopment site along Bates Street near the New Jersey Turnpike Extension. The original proposal called for the apartments to be housed in four towers ranging from 23 to 50 stories. The two building project, consisting of 75 Park Lane and Shore House is located in Jersey City’s Newport neighborhood. Spanning 70 stories and containing 600 units, it will be the tallest of the three buildings upon its completion in late 2020. The first tower, housing 538 rentable residential units on 53 floors, opened in early 2017 and is fully leased. When fully built-out, Journal Squared will contain more than 1,800 residential units and approximately 36,000 square feet of retail space when completed by 2024. 87 Newkirk St Great Neck, New York developer Namdar Group is constructing a new 15-story residential tower at 87 Newkirk Street in the Journal Square area of Jersey City. The project includes 132 units, 25,000 square feet of shared office space and 1,500 square feet of retail space The Enclave-675 Monmouth St In mid-2019, BNE Real Estate Group, Hoboken Brownstone Co. and McKinney Properties opened The Enclave, a new 260 luxury apartment development at 675 Monmouth Street. The project represented a redevelopment of the former Van Leer Chocolate Factory site. A second phase, Van Leer Place North, will come later to 110 Hoboken Avenue and consist of 222 apartments.
