Guttenberg Local 88 recognizes
local business owner
Guttenberg Local 88 recently lost a newly
retired member who was a sergeant with
the department.
During the difficult time for members
and the department, a local business
owner lent a helping hand. Jeff Auriemma,
owner of the New Jersey Towing Company,
towed the officer’s vehicle at no charge.
“We called him for a service with the
expectation of paying for it,” acknowledged
Sergeant Jim Hosie. “It took us aback that
he would do that for free and he said,
‘When it comes to the police, anything for
you guys.’”
The Local decided to recognize the
owner for his efforts and bestow him with a
plaque as a reminder that there are still
members of the community that support
law enforcement. d
