Morris County Corrections
officers accept Patriot Award
Morris County Corrections Local 298 member Ronnie Joseph
member Ronnie Joseph nominated Morris County Undersheriff
Joseph Pascale and Warden Chris Klein for the Patriot Award from
the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Joseph, a U.S. Army reservist, appreciated the flexibility and concern his supervisors displayed when he is deployed.
The Patriot Award is a certificate of recognition for employers who
demonstrate job flexibility, appreciation and cooperation with
workers who need time off for deployment and training. The award
was presented at a meeting of the county freeholders on Jan. 13,
where dozens of officers attended to show support.
“Without people like that we wouldn't have the freedoms we
have,” noted Klein. “I thank them for the dedication and the time
they miss from their families.”
Joseph, who has worked at the jail since January 2001, has been
deployed four times since he started at the correctional facility and
could not be present at the ceremony because he is currently stationed at Fort Dix.
“They never once had an issue,” Joseph wrote in a message. “ ^B
