See the story of how East Hanover Local 227 gathered more
than 20,000 pounds of supplies, loaded them into a 26-foot
truck and drove it 25 hours to Baton Rouge in August to help
fellow officers victimized by the tumultuous floods in August.
See how trucking awesome Local 227 was in providing supplies to 200 officers in the Baton Rouge Police Department who
lost their homes, had no beds to sleep on and were down to
their last rolls of toilet paper.
See the emotion from these members of the Baton Rouge police association when East Hanover rolled in with 85 air mattresses, cleaning supplies, thousands of pounds of pet food,
toys for kids, just about every household item imaginable and
hundreds of rolls of toilet paper.
Local 227 member Robert Jordan made the “Operation NJ
to LA” video, and it’s a production worthy of 60 Minutes, CNN
or Dateline. But, then, so much of what Local 227 has accomplished has been a big production, and that applies in the most
complimentary way. Big productions made East Hanover Local
227 the consensus choice to be the 2016 NJ State PBA Local of
the Year.
