IRS Audit Results
Edmond Brady, the official accountant for
the State PBA, spoke on the importance of filing a 1099 for documentation when receiving
a stipend from your employer. He reminded
members to keep documentation for annual
reconciliation items such as miles reimbursement, transportation, parking and tolls, tips,
Internet access and electronics purchased for
work specifications. Brady stressed the
importance of Locals using a voucher system
when making reimbursement to members.
As one good convention deserves another,
Convention Committee Chairman Pete Andreyev
presented logistics for the 2015 Annual Convention, which will be held at the Red Rock Resort
Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. There are two separate
travel dates from Sept. 18-24 and Sept. 19-25, and
travel packages consist of hotel-only options.
Rooms are available on a first-come first-serve
basis and final payment is due by July 10.
The Resort offers a multitude of tour options
including a vehicle tour, mountain biking and
outdoor rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon.
There are no transfers from the Las Vegas airport
to the hotel, but the hotel offers complimentary
shuttle service. The State PBA will provide shuttle
service from the resort to the Las Vegas Strip
nightly at 10 and 11 p.m., with the last pickup on
the strip at 1:30 a.m., location TBA.
