Mainland Local 77 runs to remember
Mainland Local 77 refused to allow the rain to hinder its
mission to support an honorable cause on Sept. 8, as mem-
bers joined the community for the Smithville Freedom Run.
Supporters laced up to participate in the 5K and one-mile fun
run in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11.
The funds raised by the Freedom Run, held at Smithville Vil-
lage in Galloway Township, benefitted the Friends of Mainland
Local 77 Scholarship Fund, Galloway Township’s Official Mil-
itary Honor Guard “The Last Salute” and the United Services
Organizations.
Local 77 acknowledged that the support it received from Boy
Scout Troop 94, the Galloway Township Police Department
and Galloway Mayor Anthony Coppola made the Freedom
Run a great success, no matter the weather. d
