Long Hill Township
is ‘blue line’ strong
At a recent Long Hill Township Committee meeting, Deputy
Mayor Guy Piserchia presented the motion of painting a blue
line along Main Avenue in support of law enforcement, which
Mayor Bruce Meringolo seconded. The Township Committee
unanimously voted in favor of painting the blue line along the
entire length of Main Avenue in Stirling.
“I wanted to show all law enforcement, especially the Long
Hill Township Police Department, that the residents of Long
Hill fully support our police department and appreciate them
for what they do,” Piserchia stated.
After receiving the approval from the committee, several members of the Long Hill Township Department of Public
Works went to work and completed painting of the blue line the
very next day. Police Chief Michael Mazzeo thanked the Township Committee for the show of support, saying, “The men and
women of this police agency appreciate the sentiment very
much.”
Lieutenant Sean Brown echoed the chief’s gratitude, saying,
“The blue line on Main Avenue is very special to all of the officers, as it not only represents the support from the Township
Committee and the great residents of Long Hill Township, but
also honors the officers that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for
their communities throughout the U.S.” d
