article, I realized that these guys are on the front lines as far as representing the state. And I really wanted to get behind them.”
Kresphane, whose firm UBS consults with the PBA and its members on pension planning, keeps coming back to the Survivor & Welfare golf outing as a mission to give back to those who give so much to the community. It’ s an extension of his company’ s objective to set up full financial plans to help members secure their futures.
“ They do such a wonderful job for us, so anything we can do to help their success in the future really means a lot to us,” Kresphane asserted.“ It makes you feel good to help them.”
While much of the day is spent chasing birdies, the event also brings out birds of a feather. Neil Wojciechowski came with a foursome from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 855 in Somerville. PBA members often provide security and support when Wojciechowski’ s troops are on the job, so coming to the outing was a way of saying“ thank you.”
“ They support us; we support them,” Wojciechowski expressed.“ You know, one hand washes the other.”
Other friends came to the outing to offer a tip of the golf cap to the PBA. Investors Bank Vice President Tino Fontes articulated what every sponsor in the field would have said about this opportunity.
“ One of the things we do at Investors Bank is community involvement,” Fontes noted.“ What’ s a better way than being involved with the team that protects us on daily basis and with the heroes of the state of New Jersey?”
Not that the day needed any more inducement, but to make it more interesting, the outing was played in scramble format with the low round winning $ 100 gift cards, a chance to come back to Trump National for a free foursome and some bragging rights to the winners.

Leighton and Doug Rager teamed with NJ State Trooper Russ Gutter and Andy“ Corgi” Weber to card a 13-under-par score of 59. Rager’ s booming drives and a 40-foot putt that turned 30 feet to the left helped carry the team to the low score. Still, there was a greater reward than victory for this group.“ It’ s great to be able to support our brothers and sisters and the Survivor & Welfare Fund,” Leighton said.“ It was a great day with great company.” www. njcopsmagazine. com ■ MAY 2018 63
