Members, sponsors and friends bring out their best to
support the Survivor & Welfare Golf Outing

The foursome from Mendham Local 402 whooped it up, golf-
style. High-fiving and hugging after every shot, no matter how
far the ball went, no matter how close to the hole, was par for
the course for these boys at the NJ State PBA Survivor & Welfare
Golf Outing May 7 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster
Township.
More than 175 players participated in an event that cannot
be fully defined as an outing. “Jamboree” might be more exact.
Or “adventure.” It was a celebration to be sure, and by the time
the playing culminated and the post-golf activities began, at-
tendance swelled to more than 250 people.
The top-of-the-line fundraiser accentuated the best of what
the PBA has to offer. Camaraderie catapulted from every tee.
Sharing stories and ideas between Local members and the
PBA Executive Board abounded from tee to green and from the
breakfast bounty served in the morning to the gourmet buffet
dinner served at the end of the day.
Loyal advisors like attorney Stuart Alterman and financial
planning consultant Karl Kresphane joined loyal sponsors like
Jeff Rosen of Lending to Heroes, Jerry Sheehan from Fleming-
ton Car & Truck County and Dr. Stavros Christodias of Heritage
Surgical Group to show support for the State PBA and especially
the Survivor & Welfare Fund, which reaped a significant contri-
bution.

Retired members and new Locals, like Mendham 402, came
out for the cause. The food never stopped flowing, right down
to the sushi. And the raffle prizes, silent auction items and
swag ranged from designer sunglasses to challenge coins to
golf clubs to big-screen TVs to a souvenir from one of the great-
est golf movies of all time. Anything anybody could seemingly
want was on hand, including a good cigar.
“Of all the flyers for all the outings that go out, this one seemed
like the best cause to play in,” confirmed Local 402 President
Rob Kalweit. “We’re just so excited to be here, to speak to other
