Less grooming, more giving for Lodi Local 26 Cherry Hill Local 176 members get more than they bargained for Lodi Local 26 President Javier Hernandez was joined by ex- ecutive board members Donald Scorzetti and Louis Franco, along with many Local 26 members, to present a check for $4,000 to the No-Shave November Movember Foundation for men’s cancer research and awareness. Local 26 members’ endeavor to put down their razors for a good cause was such a success that the Local decided to extend the fundraiser to a No-Shave December campaign. The funds raised during No-Shave December were donated to families and individuals in need within the Local 26 community. Cherry Hill Local 176 hit a bull’s eye on holiday spirit on Dec. 8, when Cherry Hill Police Department officers and children from the community gathered at Target for the Local’s second “Shop with a Cop” event. Twenty children were met at the Target store early that morning by numerous Local 176 members, who volunteered their time to help children get in the giving spirit for the holidays. The aisles were filled with law enforcement, as officers helped each child pick out the perfect toys and gifts for members of their families. Once the shopping carts were loaded with toys, Local 176 members and Shop with a Cop participants worked together to wrap the gifts. Following the busy morning of shopping, the members and their helpers gathered for a delicious lunch provided by Chick- fil-A and Wawa. The Shop with a Cop event was another great success that gave young people the opportunity to build positive relationships with law enforcement while helping them get ready for another bright season of giving.
