the same level of being in the company of the
Prophets on the day of judgement. So we have to
bring this character in ourselves because we have
no other choice.
May Allah give us tawfiq (ability) to see the
evil in ourselves. First we have to recognize that
there is something wrong in our hearts and then
we have to take these steps. We have to go to a
doctor, we have to tell him our symptoms, and
then when he treats us and gives us medicine then
do not say, ‘oh the doctor gave me medicine but I
am still not better.’ That’s because you didn’t take
the medicine! So the point is that when the shaykh
gives you the medicine then take that medicine
into your life and improve your character because
at the end of the day,
ََ ْ َ َ ْ َ ُ َ ٌ َ َ َ ُ َ َّ َ ْ َ ت
�يوم ال ينفع مال ول بنون ِإل من أ
َ ْ َ َ َّ
�الل ِبقلب س ِل ٍي
ٍ
The Day, the wealth and children will not benefit,
except who comes to Allah with a sound heart.
(26:88,89)
