The ticks were crazy that year. They were actually reporting on the news, they'd never seen anything like it. It was literally raining ticks. (Thomas Amo shivers here in creepy disgust.) So, sometimes we're shooting in the woods and the bathrooms are really far away, and you just don't want to take the time to run back to the bathroom, so we all got pretty natural. I went into the woods and was....ya know...doin my thang, and while I'm there.... squatting...ticks are literally dropping on me from the trees above. I'm like brushing them off, it was crazy. Everyone was getting ticks on them, so we did "Tick Checks" at the end of the night. So while the elements were against us in some ways, Tennessee was really beautiful.
TA: For the benefit of aspiring filmmakers. It's his first movie, he has no experience but he wants to cast LAC. How does he do that?
LAC: Script is obviously key. If I like the script then I just need to know all the details about it. As a producer now I'm going to want to know your budget, and as an actor the pay isn't as important , but it is about the quality of living, such as , where are we going to be, how many days, the hours, who's involved. Also to see their work. If he's never made a movie, then I would love to talk to him his vision, what are his influences. But yeah, It's a lot of conversation.
My initial reaction to when I hear anything is being remade that I love is... NOOOOOOOO!
TA: You're not a fan of remakes are you?
LAC: (Purses lips and blows rasberry.) That's hard, because there are a lot of movies were made in the thirties and forties that were remade in the fifties or the seventies that I really like, so I give everything a chance. But my initial reaction to when I hear anything is being remade that I love is... NOOOOOOOO! Which I think a lot of people feel, I think that's pretty universal for something that you love, you don't want it tainted. But most often when something is remade, it doesn't live on, it dies and the best one will always be out there.
TA: I agree as most recently for me was "Rosemary's Baby."
I was like No...don't....don't.
LAC: (Laughs). I have a friend of mine that says, "We don't talk about that.... that never happened."
