Keep Port St . Lucie Beautiful ( KPSLB has been making our city shine since April 20 , 2001 . From beautifying neighborhoods to our Adopt-a-Street program , the foundation of neighborhood oriented government , we are always at the forefront of beautification and urban transformation .

Start a neighborhood clean up group ! All that is needed is to adopt-astreet or adopt-a-spot ( public right-of-way , retention pond area , etc . is some of your time and the willingness to collect litter on an adopted street , or area , a minimum of twelve times a year ( more if you want . Everything else is provided free of charge : litter tongs , trash bags , safety shirts , training , and the pickup and disposal of collected trash . All you have to do is pick up the litter .

This Litter Eradication Action Plan sets out a framework for reducing litter and illegal dumping in the City of Port St . Lucie for the next five years .

Police Assistance

Start a neighborhood watch group where you live . The Police Department has resources regarding Crime Prevention from bullying to gun safety .

Start a " Dog Walker Watch ." According to the American Pet Products Association ( APPA ), there are over 75 million dog owners across the nation who can help .

Hurricanes can cause significant damage because of storm surge , wind damage , and flooding . Storms occur along any U . S . coast or in any territory in the Atlantic or Pacific oceans . If a hurricane or other disaster immediately threatens our area , the City of Port St . Lucie ' s homepage and social media channels will be updated .

Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30 . Residents should make preparations before the hurricane season begins . The Hurricane Preparedness web page will help you learn how to prepare for a storm , what to do during and after a storm . Being part of a neighborhood group or the NICE program can help you and your neighbors be better prepared for a storm or other emergency .
