Ngaruawahia High School Kapa Haka USA Tour 1998 - Page 87 Tuesday 7th April 1998 South to Boulder City Lunch was eaten before the bus departed BYU – filled roll, biscuits, drinks and chips. The initial part of the journey south was on an undulating concrete freeway at 70 miles per hour (110 kph). It was not too long before the video tape of the Highland High School performance was plugged in and viewed on the three screens. Following a little bit of self-adulation “Event Horizon” and “GI Jane” were screened to those who could stay awake as the bus headed south through rain and sunshine. The landscape was mostly flat but there were mountains either side that sent down to the valley floor individual rainstorms and snow flurries, which increased as the bus traveled on. Leaving Provo for Las Vegas and Boulder City, 355 miles south (about 6 hours journey). Occasional showers and storms were encountered that swept down from the mountains. Settling in for the long journey to Boulder City (via Las Vegas) with blinds drawn and videos going. The bus had three video screens available on the roof. They watched recordings of their own Highland High School performance.
