year 6 SATS week
During the week beginning Monday 13th May, our Y6 pupils will be taking part in the SATs National Testing Programme for all 11 year old pupils in the country. The children will sit papers to test their understanding in spelling, grammar, reading and mathematics.
It is unfortunate that pressure of this nature is placed upon the children but we hope that we have supported them through the process in a considerate manner and we have no doubt that they will all rise to the challenge.
Whatever the outcome, we are extremely pleased with the progress the children have made this year and the mature attitude they have displayed as we have worked together to prepare for what lies ahead. We have no doubt that by the end of the Summer Term they will be ready, both academically and socially, for the transition to High School next year.

parking
It has been bought to our attention that parents are parking directly in front of the Doctor's Surgery at Brownshore Community Centre.
This is obviously causing some concern as patients are unable to find a place when visiting the doctor and indeed the medical staff themselves are unable to park when returning from home visits. We would like parents to respect the needs of the doctor's surgery and avoid parking in these places.
The community are extremely grateful that a surgery is available in the village and we would hope that we all make it easy for them to continue their work.
