Earrings and P.E

For reasons of safety, pupils are not permitted to wear earrings during PE sessions. Children will need to remove their earrings themselves before taking part in PE lessons and we ask that younger children do not wear earrings on ‘PE days’

as they may struggle to remove and replace earrings themselves. An exception can be made in the case of recent piercings that have not yet healed, in order to avoid long periods of non-participation in PE.

In these cases, parents must complete a permission form, which is available on the downloads page of our website, under the Parents tab or copies can be obtained from the school office. Parents must also provide tape that pupils can use to cover their earrings until the 10 week healing process is complete.

A copy of our Jewellery and Make Up policy can also be found on the downloads page on our website.

Asthma

It is important that our records are up to date and reviewed annually. If you have previously/recently notified the school that your child has asthma and requires an inhaler to be kept in school, could you please complete a School Asthma Card. These have been sent out to relevant children, or you can request one from the school office.

Food intolerance and Dietary Needs

Can we please ask that parents keep the office informed if there have been any changes to your child’s dietary needs so that we can ensure that our Kitchen staff have an up to date record of pupil’s needs.

Eye Tests

Pupils in Year 2 will have an eye test by the Orthoptist to identify any sight defects which may affect their education and require treatment. The test will take place on Friday 5th October 2018 and all year 2 pupils will receive a letter with more information by the end of the week with more information.

Parents Evening Booking system opens on Monday 24th September at 6pm.
