On Friday 23rd March we will again be supporting Sport Relief. On this day we will invite all children to wear something red and ask them to donate £1 for not being in their normal school uniform.
In return we will be holding a number of special events in school for the children to participate in and enjoy.
All the money donated will be given to the charity and we hope that all the children will support the event. Last year we raised a record amount of £619.11p for Comic Relief and we hope to get somewhere near that total this time around.
school closure
We would like to apologise for not being able to open on Friday 2nd March due to the adverse weather conditions. On previous occasions when we had been affected it had been possible to quickly clear the site and make it accessible for the pupils.
Unfortunately the wide scale drifting that happened over the early hours of Friday morning made clearing the site impractical. There was also wide scale drifting on main roads in the immediate vicinity making it extremely difficult for staff to travel. We therefore had to make the decision to close the academy.
We sincerely hope that we will be able to remain open next winter, if adverse conditions return and will make every effort to do so. When severe winter conditions do exist on our roads we will of course respect parents decision to not send their children if they deem traveling is unsafe.
