year 6 SATS 2020

Next summer’s SATs for our Year 6 pupils will take place between:

Monday 11th May to Thursday 14th May 2020.

I do hope that parents can avoid taking pupils out of school during this period so that their child can sit the tests at the appropriate time.

School Meals and Break time snacks

A free school meal for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 is again available this year under the government initiative. For children in Year 3 and above the price of a meal remains £2 per day. We believe this is still the cheapest school meal in the area and represents fantastic value.

Payment for meals can be made on line using the SIMS Pay system. If any parents wish to discuss eligibility for free school meals, Alex James-Walker (our Family Liaison Officer) can be reached by email: [email protected]

All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will continue to receive a free piece of fruit each day at morning break. Pupils in Year 3 and above have the opportunity to purchase a slice of toast for 20p during the break. Milk is also available to children from year 1 and up every day priced at 20p per carton.

Water bottles

We are committed to protecting our environment, and reducing our plastic waste, and with this in mind we are excited to announce that as of yesterday we now have St Johns Primary Academy Branded Reusable Water Bottles which will normally retail at £3 however until Christmas these can be purchased for the introductory price of £2.50 further details about how purchase these can be found here on our website.

Parents are of course welcome to purchase other water bottles which can be used in the classroom with the proviso that they are transparent and have a sports lid. Other containers which are bulky or not transparent can be kept in school bags for use during break times.

emergency contact forms & Consent forms

It is vitally important that we have the correct, up to date emergency contact information for our pupils and we require more than one contact for each pupil. If you haven’t yet returned your ‘Emergency Contact Details’ form or your ‘Additional Pupil Information’ form, please do so as soon as possible or visit the school office to collect a new form, to let us know if there have been any changes to your information or to check that the information we hold is up to date.
