Sportshall Athletics
28 Children took the trip to Fenton Manor, Stoke on Trent to participate in the annual County Sportshall Athletics Championships, after qualifying in style last month.
The pressure was really on the boys and girls, as St John's had won the previous five years. The obstacle team burst off with pace with both the boys and girls winning. Children then split off in different direction to partake in various track and field events.
All the children came back with smiles on their faces and sweat on their brow, which was a good sign. The final race was the 4x1 boys/girls event where all 8 children somehow found that last bit of speed and power to finish how they started, winning both events.
The children then lay in wait for the results, it seemed like an eternity but finally they got the news they had been waiting for.
All that hard training had paid off they were County Champions for the sixth year running! Well done all, you deserved it!
