Staff Leaving
Miss Askew will be leaving St. John’s today as she moves closer to the birth of her first child. Miss Askew has only been with us at St. John’s since September but has proved herself to be a valuable member of the team. We of course wish her well as she starts this exciting new chapter in her life.
Mrs McMahon will assume the teaching responsibilities for the class in the brief period until the end of term.
Mrs Willington has been operating as the temporary headteacher of Western Springs Primary School in Rugeley for the last few weeks and will be there from September prior to taking up the exciting post of headship at Boney Hay Primary Academy
Miss Price who also joined the academy in September has obtained a new position in a school in Rugeley. Miss Price has been a hard working member of staff and we would like to thank her for her commitment over the last 12 months.
Mrs Vaughan will be unfortunately leaving St. John’s at the end of term to take up a new post in Kidderminster. Mrs Vaughan has recently moved to that area and has obtained a new position closer to home to reduce her daily commute.
Mrs Vaughan has been a highly successful teacher here at St. John’s since joining in 2011 from Cheslyn Hay Primary and will of course be missed. She has given excellent service to the academy in general and particularly to children in Year 1 and Year 2. Mrs Vaughan has been a really caring teacher and has greatly encouraged the children in her class. We wish her well and know that the children she will be teaching next year are very lucky to have her.
Mrs Jones has decided to end her teaching career at the end of term after many years dedicated service to St. John’s. Mrs Jones joined the academy in 1996 and has been a huge influence upon the success we have achieved in the interim period. Her work ethic has been second to none and she has relentlessly pushed her pupils forward to be the best they can be. Mrs Jones is St. John’s through and through and is certainly irreplaceable. We all wish Mrs Jones well in the future as she pursues other interests and career opportunities and know that she will be a huge success.
New Staff
Emma Collins will be joining the staff of St. John’s in September to teach in Reception. Miss Collins has been teaching in Walsall and we look forward to her becoming part of the team
Claire Edwards will also be taking up a full time role with us in September to teach in Year 1. Mrs Edwards has worked with St. John’s in a supply capacity for the last 12 months and we are delighted to be giving her this opportunity to become a fulltime member of the team.
Sophie Lockley joins St. John’s as a Newly Qualified Teacher taking a Year 1 class from September. Miss Lockley completed part of her teacher training here and is well known to us as both a former pupil and a former employee in Eagles.
