Children In Need
This year we will again be supporting the BBC Children in Need campaign by holding a cake sale here at St. John’s. This is always popular with pupils and raises a considerable amount for the charity.
Due to our Inset Day taking place the same day as the television appeal, Friday 17th November, our Children In Need sale will take place on Friday 24th November.
On this day we would ask that children bring a donation of cakes into school. All pupils will then have the opportunity to buy cakes at 20p each.
On the day we will be encouraging children not to eat too many cakes and suggesting that they take some home with them to either share with the family or eat over the following days. We would therefore like to ask parents to send with their child some type of container that they can bring cakes home in. If this can be labeled with their child’s name we will hopefully avoid containers being mislaid.
I would like to thank parents in advance of their support.
We are pleased to again support the British Legion Poppy Appeal this year. Poppies and other remembrance merchandise will be available to pupils to buy and the children will also be looking at various aspects of remembrance during assemblies this week.
As Armistice Day officially falls on Saturday 11th November, we will be holding our annual two minute silence at 11am this Friday
