Maternity News
We are delighted to inform you that after leaving school last week to commence her maternity leave, Miss Curran welcomed her son, Jacob Ellis, into the world just a few hours later! Had Miss Curran stayed any later that evening, Jacob would have possibly been the first St John’s baby to be delivered in school!
Both mum and Jacob are well and enjoying their first days together. We hope you join us in sending our warmest congratulations and best wishes to the family.
I am pleased to give you advance notice of two events that the Parents' Association are involved with next half term.
Firework Display
This is a joint venture with Essington Scout and Guide Group. It will take place on the evening of Friday November 3rd here at St. John’s. The gates will open at 6pm and refreshments will be available. A separate flyer will be distributed prior to the event giving details of entry prices, exact timings and other information. The evening has proved successful in previous years and I am sure it be enjoyable for parents and children again this time around.
Christmas Fayre
This year’s Christmas Fayre will take place on Friday December 1st .
Further information and dates can be found on the Parents' Association page on the school website
Kick Racism Out Event
I am pleased to say that 14 of our Year 6 pupils were able to attend a Kick Racism Out event at Molineux recently. The special presentation involved present and former football players explaining how racism has had a negative impact upon their careers and how it should be challenged. The informative afternoon was thought provoking for the pupils and we are sure they found it very interesting and enjoyable.
We will continue to promote the message of the Kick it Out campaign within St. John’s because we are aware that racism can affect people in all walks of life and not just sport.
