Harvest Festival

Parents’ Consultations

It was good to see the Church full with parents and grandparents. Over the three services 430 children participated and they all performed well and hopefully benefited from the experience. I am sure you can appreciate what a difficult task it is to co-ordinate so many pupils walking to the church safely, making sure they all have suitable space in the Church and that the services run on time.

It had also proved difficult to arrange a time convenient time for both St. John’s Church and ourselves given the busy timetables we both have but I am pleased that we were able to proceed this year and would like to thank Reverend Wendy and her team for their hospitality.

The separate service held here in the academy for our 86 Year 6 pupils was also very successful with the pupils demonstrating a good understanding of the more difficult issues around Harvest. The pupils discussed the vast differences between parts of the globe where food can be scarce or plentiful and the implications for people in the future.

For this week’s Parents’ Consultations child care is available in our Eagles building for the charge of £1 per child on Tuesday 17th October.

Unfortunately, we do not have this provision on Wednesday 18th October unless a booking for the full session has been made at normal Eagles rates.

Pupils are not able to view their work with parents and we would ask that they do not attend, unless they are using Eagles, as we do not have staff available to be responsible for them.

Thank you to all the parents who attended last week’s Harvest Festival services at St. John’s Church.

A reminder that this Friday 20th October is an Inset day and school is closed to pupils.
