CPHS receives national banner recognition as Unified Champion School
Champlin Park High School ( CPHS ) has been named a Special Olympics Unified Champion School demonstrating commitment to inclusion by meeting 10 standards of excellence .
CPHS was one of four schools in Minnesota to receive national banner recognition by the Special Olympics as a Unified Champion School in 2024 .

sense of collaboration , engagement and respect for all student body and staff members .
The Unified Club at CPHS aims to create a school climate where students with disabilities feel welcome and routinely included in all activities , opportunities and functions . The team has competed in bocce ball , and basketball , and last school year participated in outdoor winter activities . n

Andover and Blaine high schools named AP Honor Roll Schools
The Advanced Placement ( AP ) School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results and broadening access for students .
Schools can earn the recognition based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their school ’ s college-going culture , providing opportunities for students to earn college credit , and maximizing college readiness . The AP School Honor Roll named Andover and Blaine high schools with a Bronze Level of Distinction for 2024 .
• Andover High School had 49 % of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school .
• Blaine High School ( BHS ) had 40 % of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school .

Six seniors named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists
Six Anoka-Hennepin seniors have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists , and each are now in the running to earn one of the 6,870 scholarships of up to $ 2,500 for college .
National Merit Scholarship semifinalists :
• Jaxon Knutson , Andover High School .
• Kieran Hobot , Blaine High School .
• Noah Johnson , Champlin Park High School .
• Elizabeth Mayor , Champlin Park High School .
• Cole Burnett , Coon Rapids High School .
• Aidan C . Hofstedt , Coon Rapids High School .
The six Anoka-Hennepin students are among nearly 16,000 semifinalists nationally who have the opportunity to become National Merit Scholars .

To become a semifinalist , high school juniors completed the 2023 Preliminary SAT , which served as an initial screen of program entrants . The nationwide pool of semifinalists , representing less than one percent of U . S . high school seniors , includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state .
Next , the semifinalists will submit a detailed scholarship application , providing information about their academic record , participation in school and community activities , demonstrated leadership abilities , employment , honors and awards received , among other requirements . n
